Active Release Technique (ART)

Active Release Technique (ART), also known as Active Release Therapy, is a patented, soft tissue movement-based massage technique that treats problems relating to the muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and nerves. ART is particularly suitable for conditions that are a result of overused muscles.

My Graphic

Overused muscles can cause your body to produce tough and dense scar tissue which binds together to prevent muscles from moving freely. As the scar tissue builds up, your muscles become shorter and weaker, tension on tendons can cause tendonitis, and nerves can become trapped, all of which causes a reduced range of motion, loss of strength and pain. If a nerve is trapped, often patients may feel tingling, numbness and weakness.

ART is known to quickly resolve the conditions relating to overused muscles and provides patients with effective pain relief.

Conditions treated using Active Release Therapy (ART) include:

  • Headaches
  • Back Pain
  • Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
  • Shin Splints
  • Shoulder Pain
  • Sciatica
  • Plantar Fasciitis
  • Knee Problems & Injuries
  • Tennis Elbow
